Summer Wedding at Fasque Castle
The long summer evenings in June make it a popular month for a Scottish Wedding, the further north you go the longer the day and sunset in mid-June can be as late as 10.00 pm! With this in mind, Kitty & Stuart had organised a fun packed day for all their guests. The girls were getting ready next to the bridal suite, a lovely bright room, it was busy and buzzy. Meanwhile, Stuart and the boys were gathering in the Library for some photographs before heading downstairs to greet their guests.

Kitty & Stuart had chosen to have their ceremony at the pretty on site 19th Century St Andrew’s Chapel, a short walk from the actual castle itself along a tree lined path. After an exchange of some heartfelt vows, the newlyweds exited the Church to all their guests singing Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’! Uniquely, the best church exit I’ve ever witnessed!

Confetti Tunnel at Fasque House
Afterwards, the guests all gathered outside the main house where Kitty & Stuart walked out to a wonderful confetti tunnel. If you’re organising a confetti throw, it’s always a good idea to organise it prior to the drinks reception! Once the happy couple had dusted off the confetti it was time for champagne on the lawn outside the West Wing Terrace. Coupled with the sunshine, it was the perfect setting for a wedding reception and very handy for family group photographs too.

We were spoilt for choice for couple portraits in the picturesque gardens surrounding the Castle, not wanting to keep Kitty & Stuart from their guests for too long, a short 15 minute walk beside the Castle was plenty of time before heading back.

The Ballroom was dressed to perfection by florist Kim Dalglish and Kitty’s Chinese wedding favours complimented the florals brilliantly in this lovely light and airy room. Equally important at a wedding in Chinese culture is the Tea Ceremony, symbolising the union of two families. In addition, Kitty dressed in traditional dress and thanked her own lovely Mum and new Mother in law.

A Choreographed First Dance
After the tea ceremony and a few evening photographs outside in the last of the summer evening light, it was time for dancing in the Main Hall. The couple had secretly planned a wonderful choreographed Tango as their first dance to perform for their guests. It was absolutely magnificent, all finished off with a confetti canon. A wonderful way to get the Party started!
