I’m sharing Alexis & Daniel’s beautiful Hopetoun House wedding photographs with you today! I hope they give you lots of lovely inspiration for your own big day. If you’re getting married at Hopetoun House, read on!
This was a lovely fusion of Scottish and American cultures, bringing all their close friends and family together to celebrate at the magnificent Hopetoun House in South Queensferry, just outside Edinburgh.

Getting Wedding Ready for Hopetoun House
There was a lovely laid back feel to Alexis’ bridal prep. She chose to get ready with her family and bridesmaids in her lovely, bright flat in Edinburgh. The space was just perfect for me to photograph all her lovely wedding details. Hopetoun House is situated just outside Edinburgh in South Queensferry. As a result, the transport was a very important part of the day, making sure the bride-to-be and her wedding party arrived on time for the ceremony!
Meanwhile, my second photographer, Fiona met up with the boys at the venue and took the boys off to do some relaxed photographs of them all before they needed to be back and ready to welcome the guests.
Elegant and Stylish Edinburgh Wedding Venue
Hopetoun House is such an elegant and stylish wedding venue. As an Edinburgh Wedding Photographer, I’m lucky to have photographed there many times and each time I visit, I am blown away at how each wedding is unique to the couple and tailored to their individual requirements. With this in mind, Alexis and Daniel had opted for a laid-back, elegant day and with the sun shining a brilliant blue sky, I knew we were on for the best day ever!
In the meantime, all the guests were seated in the Stables, eagerly awaiting the Bride’s arrival. Alexis made her entrance. Afterwards, to rapturous applause, the newlyweds made their way to the front of Hopetoun House, led by their Piper for a group shot with all their guests. As a result, we saw this as a lovely opportunity for a big confetti throw!
Outdoor Wedding Reception at Hopetoun House
Meanwhile, while the guests were soaking up the warm Edinburgh sunshine, we photographed the couple in the magnificent Red Room. Equally as important, the gardens and woodland behind the house serve as a beautiful backdrop to any wedding photograph. For this reason, we always try and incorporate as many of the beautiful locations around the grounds.
Equally as important, the Ballroom looked magnificent and dressed to perfection by Narcicuss Flowers. Furthermore, the table decor coupled with the ivory white blooms with muted greens was so stylish and elegant. After dinner, we took some more relaxed group shots of friends and family before gathering together to capture the First Dance and start the party!
Altogether, this beautiful Hopetoun House Wedding really did have the wow factor and I love the unique touches Alexis and Daniel added to their magical wedding day!
