A stylish Scotsman Hotel wedding in Edinburgh always brings something special, and this celebration was no exception. Planned all the way from the USA by Grace and her Scottish husband to be, the day was full of energy, style and that brilliant “best party ever” vibe they were hoping for.

What Is the Garden Suite Like for a Wedding Ceremony?
The Garden Suite was the perfect setting for their ceremony, bright, open-air and ideal for couples who want something relaxed and full of natural light. The team at The Scotsman Hotel looked after every detail, and the florals by Save The Date Collective added a gorgeous touch of colour. With Edinburgh serving up constant summer rain, the glass roof cover came into good use, but it didn’t change the atmosphere at all. The whole ceremony felt warm, joyful and completely unfazed by the weather outside.
Grand Cafe Wedding Reception
This was actually the first wedding the Grand Café had hosted, and it felt like the perfect setting from the moment guests walked in. The original features from its days as the reception hall of the iconic Scotsman Newspaper building give it a wonderful character. High ceilings, warm lighting and that “old Edinburgh” charm make it brilliant for a stylish city wedding reception.

Where Can You Take Photos Indoors at The Scotsman Hotel?
When the weather refuses to cooperate (always need to have a ‘plan B’ in Scotland!), The Scotsman Hotel has plenty of great indoor spots for photographs. The main entrance has some cover, and the marble staircase became the star of the show. Its soft, flattering light created a beautiful backdrop for family groups and relaxed portraits without needing to step outside.
Later in the evening, when there was a break in the weather, we managed to get out to the Royal Mile for some outdoor photographs!
Why Couples Are Choosing Champagne Towers Over Cake Cutting
Champagne towers seem to be becoming the new go-to moment at weddings, with couples choosing them over a cake cutting! After seeing this one in action, it’s easy to understand why. They’re fun, they photograph beautifully, and they bring everyone together in a way that feels celebratory and full of personality. This tower created a brilliant focal point for the evening, cheers, bubbles and plenty of laughter.

Rainy Day Wedding Magic at The Scotsman Hotel
Grace and Craig genuinely had the best day, despite the weather. It didn’t stop the fun for a second, if anything, it added its own charm to the wedding day. The Scotsman Hotel proved once again why it’s such a lovely place to get married, stylish, iconic and right in the heart of the city with so many gorgeous spots tucked inside. After the champagne tower flowed and the glasses were raised, the party really came to life in the Grand Café. The atmosphere was brilliant, full of music and that great energy the couple had hoped for. From the relaxed Garden Suite ceremony to the celebrations late into the evening, it was the perfect backdrop for a wonderful, effortless day that felt like “them” from start to finish.
If you’re starting to plan your own Scotsman Hotel wedding, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up. My approach is relaxed, light-filled and all about capturing real moments without any fuss.
