Scottish Castle Wedding Morning

Arriving at Dundas Castle the girls were busy with hair and make-up and getting dressed. Meanwhile, my trusty second photographer caught up with the boys. As soon as Kristen was ready, she made her way down the main staircase to meet her Dad. After a few ‘happy tears’ we had time for some bridal portraits in the drawing room.

Elegant Black Tie Courtyard Ceremony at Dundas Castle

Even meticulous wedding planning can’t plan ahead for the Scottish weather! All of a sudden, just as Kristen was about to walk across from the castle to the courtyard, there was a summer shower! As a result, the ceremony was put back for half an hour but it was well worth the wait. In the meantime, the organised staff at Dundas looked after the guests and we were back on track swiftly for Kristen to make her stunning entrance to meet her husband-to-be!

After the ceremony, the newlyweds walked back to the castle and the guests enjoyed a champagne reception in the main hall. The Scottish Piper made an announcement to all the guests and then Kristen & Frances walked down the magnificent staircase to cut their cake!

Afterwards, I took the couple for a walk around the Castle. Firstly, we went up to the Auld Keep for some relaxed photographs. Dundas Castle has magnificent views over the Firth of Forth. Finishing up in the gardens overlooking the Castle and all their guests enjoying the champagne reception.

Wedding Live Stream

The very talented Inspire Video live streamed the whole ceremony to the couple’s guests in other parts of the world. A wonderful idea for those guests unable to make the trip but wanting to be a part of the day. Marquee Wedding Breakfast

The Wedding breakfast was held in the Marquee, it was dressed to perfection with ivory white and soft greens. Speeches were in between courses and with there being a fusion of American and Scottish customs, the speeches were tremendously fun and very entertaining! Following on from dinner the couple prepared for their first dance and then the party started and what a party it was!
