As an Edinburgh elopement photographer, I am so lucky to witness some of the most intimate moments a couple can share. Recently, I had the honour of capturing a truly magical small Edinburgh wedding. It was the epitome of perfect! A classic and elegant Edinburgh elopement – just the couple, no guests, and a day filled with love and happy, timeless memories.
The ceremony took place at the Edinburgh City Chambers, situated on the Royal Mile. It’s a perfect location that perfectly blends in with all that is Edinburgh. The bride wore a beautiful dress from Odd Muse. It embodied classic elegance and she carried a pretty dried flower bouquet by Hidden Botanics. Her stunning look was completed by talented Makeup Artist Lauren O Makeup Artist, who created the most wonderful look, Clare looked sensational!
Edinburgh Elopement Location Ideas
After the intimate vows were exchanged, the newlyweds took a leisurely walk around the streets of Edinburgh’s Old Town. It was the last day of the Edinburgh Festival. Although the town was busy, the backdrop provided the perfect setting, Edinburgh never disappoints.
One of the highlights of the day was sharing a celebratory toast with the bride and groom at the Virgin Hotel on Victoria Street. Fizz was ordered and too this opportunity to get some more photographs in the Commons Club before heading off to the Witchery for dinner.
Being asked to be both a photographer and a witness, alongside my lovely assistant/second witness (Margo), was an incredible honour. As an Edinburgh City Chambers wedding photographer, it’s moments like these that remind me how lucky I am, to do what I love— capturing love stories!

If you’re a fan of the Netflix series ‘One Day’, you’ll be familiar with this iconic Edinburgh backdrop, it’s a very popular spot with couples and you can see why! Edinburgh Castle does look rather magnificent in the background.

Is there a better way to finish off your Edinburgh Elopement than with a glass of champagne before dinner? The staff in the Commons Club were so welcoming and it was the perfect refresher before the newlyweds headed to the Witchery for dinner!
