Inglewood House Wedding

A gorgeous, stylish Inglewood House Wedding! This was my first time at Inglewood House in Alloa for Leanne & Scott’s stylish wedding an what a brilliant first wedding it was! We started the day in Inglwood’s own dedicated bridal prep room perfect for those morning bridal preparations. Although the weather was a little blustery with on and off rain all day, I thought the venue was lovely with beautiful grounds and we managed to dodge the showers for some photographs outside! Leanne looked stunning in her Sassi Holford dress with the most beautiful bridal cape. Their gorgeous pup Wallace made a very handsome usher and was extremely well behaved for photographs too! Who doesn’t love a dog at a wedding!

Planning a wedding at Broxmouth Park – Shirley & Liam

Planning a wedding at Broxmouth Park? Whether a small intimate wedding in the beautiful dining room over looking the private gardens or a lavish party in the marquee Broxmouth Park really does seem to have it all! Liam and Shirley put the perfect stamp on their wedding day.Simon and his team always do seem to make each and every wedding they host unique and relaxed which is why as an Edinburgh Wedding Photographer it’s one of my favourite East Lothian wedding venues!

Broxmouth Park Wedding

I met up with Shirley and her bridesmaids at Broxmouth Park House where the girls were in the final throws of bridal prep with make up by Stephanie McDowell and hair Bridal Styling by Jennifer Crawford. I set to work photographing the pretty bridal details, Jimmy Choo’s (shoe crush!!) and Shirley’s stunning dress by Essence of Australia. The interiors of the house make a perfect backdrop for any wedding day preparations. Liam and the boys were waiting for me outside the house in their red vintage car ready to make their way to the Church. Before heading off to the church herself, Shirley was being helped into her dress by the girls, she looked stunning and the light in the room was just perfect for those beautiful bridal shots.

Arriving at St Mary’s Church in Whitekirk Village after a short drive through Dunbar, Shirley arrived looking radiant! An intimate and touching ceremony followed by some pretty awesome confetti throwing from all their family and guests outside the church. The party continued back at Broxmouth House with a very relaxed drinks reception in the sunshine with the Capella String Quartet softly playing in the background. While the guests were enjoying the champagne we jumped on the golf buggy and headed down to the pretty loch, all part of the 150 acres of the private parkland at Broxmouth! Liam was the perfect husband carrying his new bride to save the Jimmy Choo’s!

The marquee was styled to perfection by Linda from Toska Flowers with soft pastel tones and overhead hanging greenery and florals with a top table and centre pieces to match, perfect match for my soft and airy photography style. It had a magical feel. The guests were seated for dinner and entertained with very heartfelt and funny speeches!

It really was the ultimate wedding day!  If you’re planning a wedding at Broxmouth Park, I’d love to hear from you!

Inchcolm Island Wedding

Inchcolm Island Wedding

I’m excited to share Amy and Ian’s romantic Inchcolm Island wedding, simply breathtaking!

The day before the wedding I met up with Ian, his Ushers and his Dad, who incidentally was his Best Man too, how lovely is that! I met up with them all at Benjamin Barbers in Stockbridge. Not frequenting barber shops that often I was pleasantly surprised. The shop had a very rustic and vintage feel, it made me feel very nostalgic, French bulldog Ozzy was a bonus too! Photographing the boys preparing for Ian’s big day was relaxed and good fun!

Fast forward to the following morning where I met up with Amy and her bridesmaids. The girls were in the throws of bridal prep having their hair and make up done by Monica from The Made Up Team. I photographed Amy’s pretty wedding details including her beautiful wedding dress and flowers by Adelaide’s Secret Garden.

Ian and the boys met up at South Queensferry ready to greet their guests to board the Maid of Forth, not before some light refreshment in the Hawes Inn to set them on their way.  The guests boarded the Maid of Forth ready for their short journey to Inchcolm Island Amy and her bridesmaids stowed away in the Captain’s Cabin for the short journey, while the Ian and the rest of the guests enjoyed the sunny journey, the weather was glorious and we even managed to see some seals on the way!

The ceremony took place in the ruined chapel, which had the most incredible light and romantic atmosphere. Inchcolm Island is just a perfect setting for a wedding! Afterwards the guests sipped champagne on the lawn of the Abbey while we took Ian and Amy off for a short time to capture some photographs amongst the ruins! How stunning was that light!

Norton House Wedding

The party continued on the boat, ferrying the guests back to South Queensferry before heading for a lovely reception at Norton House Hotel. The newlyweds were welcomed to a confetti tunnel before a wonderful wedding breakfast in The Garden Room, followed by dancing!

We had the most wonderful day with Amy and Ian, we loved sharing your adventure with you, such a special day, Inchcolm Island it a truly beautiful setting for a wedding!

Carberry Tower Wedding – Michelle & Alan

Carberry Tower Wedding – Michelle & Alan

I was excited to be invited to photograph Michelle and and Alan’s beautiful wedding at Carberry Tower, situated just outside Edinburgh. When planning a wedding in Scotland you always have to have a contingency plan for rain as we have quite a lot of it but I don’t think even Michelle and Alan had planned on quite so much on their wedding day!  So, what do you do if it rains on your wedding day nearly all day?  Be like this happy couple and just embrace it and go with it!

Luckily Carberry Tower has some beautiful big room with most delicious light to accommodate any type of weather.  I joined Michelle and her bridesmaids during bridal prep and quickly got to work photographing all her pretty details. Michelle had chosen dried flowers for her bouquet and buttonholes, they added a beautiful element of texture and prettiness and the best bit of all is that they last so much longer than fresh flowers, a beautiful keepsake!

The rain was coming down pretty heavy when I met with Alan and the boys so we opted for some relaxed portraits in Carberry Tower’s Drawing Room before heading back to Michelle.  Michelle looked absolutely stunning in her Enzoani Instanbul Wedding dress from Emma Roy, the light in the Bridal Suite was just perfect to capture her before she went to meet her Groom.

A beautiful Humanist ceremony both personal and romantic, luckily there was a break in the weather and the happy couple walked out to a dried flower confetti tunnel with all their guests, followed by a drinks reception in the Drawing Room of Carberry Tower.  The marquee looked beautiful with a rustic and vintage theme, Michelle had carefully chosen all the details for their individual beauty and put use her own DIY skills together with the rustic dried floral arrangements.  Everything looked stunning and definitely represented their individual quirks and tastes.

Michelle and Alan were so lovely to work, I particularly enjoyed the relaxed and creative vibe and I loved the way they embraced the rain on their wedding day and luckily Carberry Tower with it’s sweeping tree lined drive made a great rain cover! Congratulations to you both, it was lovely being a part of your special day x

Dalhousie Castle Wedding Photographer – Kayleigh & Sameh

Dalhousie Castle Wedding Photographer

If you’re planning a wedding at Dalhousie Castle, I hope you’ll get some lovely inspiration from Kayleigh and Sameh’s beautiful summer wedding!

I had the most amazing day with Kayleigh and Sameh at their beautiful, stylish wedding at Dalhousie Castle in Bonnyrigg, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.  Living overseas Kayleigh and Sameh had planned their entire wedding from abroad.  Their wedding day was all about bringing family and friends together from all over the world for a wonderful celebration. And what a celebration it was!
On the morning of the wedding, I joined beautiful bride Kayleigh and the girls for a busy bridal prep at the top of the castle, while the girls were busy in their preparations, I got to work photographing all the pretty details and the beautiful bouquets from Spiral Flowers.  Meanwhile, Sameh and the boys were greeting guests.  I managed to capture some portraits of the boys in the sunshine before heading upstairs to Kayleigh as she was putting together the finishing touches.  The girls helped her into her beautiful dress before an emotional Dad saw her for the first time to walk her down the aisle to meet her groom.

Dalhousie Castle Wedding Photographer

The ceremony was laid back and emotional with a surprise delivery from the resident owl with the rings, who had other ideas on where to go for the delivery!  All followed by a champagne reception on the terrace. We were so lucky with the weather and Kayleigh and Sameh were naturals in front of the camera and we took full advantage of that gorgeous light in that late afternoon sun, just perfect for wedding photographs!

Dinner and some of the best speeches ever, followed by dancing, lots of dancing!  An amazing day and I had so much fun with you both and your lovely family and friends. Big Congratulations!

Louise & Ian – Northumberland Farm Wedding

Northumberland Farm Wedding

Nothing more beautiful than a Farm wedding at home, and Louise and Ian’s relaxed and stylish marquee wedding did not disappoint.

We started the morning with bridal preparations at Louise and Ian’s farm in Northumberland. It was raining hard for most of the morning but nothing was going to dampen the day and sure enough the rain held off just before the ceremony! Louse and the girls were in the full throws of bridal prep while I got to work photographing all of Louise’s pretty details.

Meanwhile, Ian and the boys travelled in style in one of Ian’s farm haulage trucks. The ceremony was being held at Longridge Towers School, situated in between Berwick Upon Tweed and Northumberland. A beautiful building, set in the countryside with the most beautiful light in the ceremony room, just perfect for a wedding ceremony! Just enough time for some relaxed portraits until their guest started to arrive for the ceremony.

Back at the house Louise and her sister were putting the final touches together and she looked simply stunning in her Atelier Pronovia wedding dress.

After a beautiful ceremony with close friends and family at Longridge Towers School it was back to the Farm to be greeted by a shower of confetti and a champagne reception on the lawn!

Louise’s handsome horse Chester made a VIP guest appearance at the reception and was extremely well behaved and posed magnificently with ‘the beautiful bride’! I love horses and dogs at weddings!  The marquee had been beautifully styled by the Flower Room and looked amazing for Louise and Ian to make their entrance to join their guests for dinner and speeches.

I loved the way Louise and Ian embraced the rain on their wedding day and we were so lucky with the sunshine in the late afternoon. It truly was an amazing day!

Congratulations Louise and Ian x

Glenbervie House Wedding – Robyn & Allan

Glenbervie House Wedding – Robyn and Allan

Sharing Robyn and Allan’s Romantic Glenbervie House wedding today.

I met with my gorgeous bride Robyn and her bridesmaids for a very busy bridal prep in the bridal suite of Glenbervie House. While Robyn and the girls prepared for ceremony I photographed all the pretty details and flowers.

Downstairs there was a busy hive of activity preparing for the ceremony and reception. The room looked magnificent, dressed to perfection by Make Believe Events and Floristry, beautiful floral arrangements and so many pretty details including a candy cart and free standing illuminating lights, who doesn’t like to see the theme of the day in lights!  The lights were also the showcase for the stunning cake made by Rosewood Cakes, set in prime position next to the head table.

Back at the bridal suite, Robyn was just putting together the final touches with her bridesmaids and two pretty flower girls. The light was just perfect for some bridal portraits before Robyn was ready to go and meet her groom.

Robyn looked simply stunning and her Dad looked so proud walking her up the aisle to meet Allan. A romantic ceremony with family and close friends where Allan’s faithful Labrador was chief Ring Bearer and their super cute daughter kept guests entertained while the new Mr & Mrs signed the register!

We were so lucky with the weather on Robyn and Allan’s wedding day at Glenbervie House, gorgeous blue skies, sunny and warm and this also meant their family and guests were able to enjoy champagne reception in the sunshine on the terrace and lawn at Glenbervie House! As we all know this cannot always be guaranteed at Scottish weddings!

A rare sunny day also guarantees those lovely soft romantic evening portraits in pretty light, which always make me super excited!

Congratulations Robyn and Allan! x

Waterfront at Archerfield Wedding – Sophia and James

Waterfront at Archerfield Wedding – Sophia and James!

If anyone ever asks me ‘what happens if it rains on my wedding day?’  I’ll show them Sophia and James beautiful Waterfront at Archerfield wedding.  Even the ducks came out to celebrate!

Archerfield House Waterfront Pavilion in North Berwick, is set in 28 acres of land looking out on to the Firth of Forth, it is a stunning wedding venue and one of my favourite venues, not only because of the stunning landscapes but is perfect for all weathers with a magnificent marquee atmosphere.

On the morning of the wedding, I met beautiful bride Sophia at the Marine Villa on the grounds of Archerfield. As I arrived, Sophia was right in the throws of bridal prep having her makeup done by super talented Lauren Gollan. I wandered around documenting the prep and all the stylish details, from her beautiful Caroline Castigliano dress, shoes and gorgeous flowers. While Sophia was getting her hair styled, she opened a lovely card from her soon to be husband along with a beautiful earrings and necklace set.

James and the boys were photographed in the Boat House and down at the Waterfront. Luckily, the sky was a brilliant blue and we captured some really lovely portrait shots, a mixture of formal and relaxed.

Back at the villa, Sophia, her four bridesmaids and two beautiful flower girls were putting together the final touches. Once perfected, we took to the sunshine to get some photographs of Sophia with her bridesmaids and her Dad, before heading off to the cathedral in Edinburgh.

The cathedral was the beautiful St Mary’s Cathedral in Palmerston Place located in the Westend of the city. The bridesmaids arrived in style in a Tesla Premium electric car, and Sophia followed with her dad in a Rolls Royce. The rain stayed off and the ceremony was lovely. Sophia and James exited as Mr and Mrs to a rose petal confetti tunnel, and we all headed back to Archerfield for the reception.

Arriving at Archerfield, we planned a shoot by the lake, but the weather had other ideas. Nevertheless, Sophia and James embraced the downpour, surrounded by the ducks, which made for some brilliant photos. Back inside, the marquee had been styled to perfection by Planet Flowers, we just loved all those stylish details and beautiful floral arrangements.

While the guests were enjoying the reception, we waited for breaks in the rain and darted outside for some romantic shots when the sun made an appearance. The Waterfront at Archerfield House makes for a stunning backdrop to the photos despite the on and off weather.

Sophia and James made their entrance for dinner to a wonderful confetti cannon before everyone settled down for the speeches. As a surprise an owl had been organised to deliver the speech for Sophia’s dad, he certainly made an entrance!  The speeches and food were wonderful and afterwards, Sophia and James took to the dance floor for an amazing choreographed first dance under another fantastic confetti cannon when the party started!

I hope that Sophia and James’ photos prove that there’s no need to worry about the weather on your wedding day. A tip from me would be to plan for rain as well as sun, and choose a venue that can cater to both.

Congratulations Sophia and James on your wonderful wedding day!

Royal College of Physicians Wedding – Amy & Craig

Royal College of Physicians Wedding in Edinburgh!

It was so lovely to be back at The Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh on Queen Street to photograph Amy and Craig’s stylish wedding.

I met up with Amy and the girls in the New Town for a buzzy but relaxed bridal prep, the apartment was so light and airy with lots of space for hair and make up and six bridesmaids and a flower girl!! A perfect location to capture all of Amy’s pretty details and afterwards for some lovely bridal portraits, before heading up to Royal College of Physicians for the ceremony.

The Royal College of Physicians is a magnificent wedding and reception venue, situated in the heart of the City Centre on Queen Street, the large wooden doors lead you up a magnificent staircase to an array of beautiful reception rooms with a stunning library, the magnificent Great Hall, stunning corridors and balconies! A Wedding Photographer’s dream!  After some photographs with Craig and the boys in the courtyard, he waited for his beautiful bride in the New Library.  Amy and Craig chose a Humanist Ceremony with Fiona Flannigan, a relaxed and personal ceremony, it’s always so lovely hearing each couples special story, how they met and fell in love, told in a humorous and emotional way. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!

After some celebratory champagne in the Cullen Suite the guests were left to explore the many rooms of the RCPE while we headed off across the road to Queen Street Gardens. The Royal College of Physicians have a key to the private gardens, a perfect setting away from it all in the heart of the city centre. We made the most of the dry weather before heading back to mingle with their guests before being called in to dinner in the Great Hall!  Before the evening celebrations Amy and Craig cut their magnificent cake, made my Craig’s talented Auntie Janice!

Amy and Craig were just so lovely together and obviously made for each other and joy to work with. We had so much fun with you both and your lovely friends and family. A truly amazing happy, fun filled wedding – thank you so much for asking us along! x
