Winton Castle Wedding PhotographerShauna & Ian's Winton Castle Winter Wedding

Winton Castle Wedding Photographer

Shauna and Ian’s beautiful Winton Castle Winter Wedding was amazing in so many ways.  Organising a wedding from abroad is no easy feat but Shauna and Ian pulled it off effortlessly.  Working with some wonderful wedding suppliers and mix in the most beautiful winter light on a very cold and crisp day and Winton Castle was warm and cosy and very Christmasy inside, it really was the perfect Winter Wedding!

I met up with pretty bride Shona and her bridal party at Letham House in East Lothian. Rebekah McVitie was working her magic on the girls while I got work photographing all of Shauna’s pretty bridal details and florals. Afterwards, Shauna slipped into her stunning Suzanne Neville dress and we had some time for some beautiful bridal portraits in the drawing room of gorgeous Letham House.

Ian and the boys were waiting at Our Lady of Loretto Roman Catholic Church in Musselburgh and after Shaua had made her entrance to meet her groom and a romantic ceremony, we made our way back to Winton Castle.  The Castle looked amazing with stunning floral arrangements from Floral Ambitions and alternative and quirky styling from Arrow & Twine, all dressed to perfection and showcased the beautiful cake made my Ian’s Aunties!

While the guests enjoyed a champagne reception in the main hall of the Castle we took the newlyweds out to the gardens behind Winton Castle and down to the lake.  The weather was cold and crisp and the falling light was just perfect for some romantic couple portraits.  We even found time to capture a romantic couple shot just after sunset!

After a wonderful dinner and some brilliant and very funny speeches, the Ballroom was transformed and made ready for dancing and a Ceilidh – All in all, a perfect Winter wedding – Big Congratulations to you both!

Principal Hotel Edinburgh Winter Wedding – Catriona & Lewis

Principal Hotel Edinburgh Winter Wedding

A wonderful crisp Winter’s Day for Catriona and Lewis’ wedding at the Principal Hotel in George Street in the heart of Edinburgh. Such a pretty wedding, stylish and festive and that ballroom looked just magnificent! I do love a Winter Wedding, especially in Edinburgh.

I met up with Cat and the girls during bridal prep and captured all her pretty wedding details and gorgeous flowers.  The ballroom looked magnificent and dressed to perfection by Save The Date Collective with holly, christmas trees and sparkles, to give the perfect Christmas vibe. After an intimate and romantic ceremony with close family and friends, we grabbed a taxi to nearby Queen Street Gardens for some quick photographs, the weather so was so mild and perfect light for our late afternoon portrait session before heading back to join their guests for the reception. I love the peace and quiet and the prettiness of Queen Street Gardens for wedding photographs.  Set in the heart of the New Town it really is the perfect setting!

We even managed to get outside in the early evening in the mild winter weather and capture the Christmas lights at The Dome and George Street. All so festive and twinkly, Edinburgh is pretty at Christmas time and George Street is just perfect as a backdrop to show off those pretty lights.  Definitely gets you in the mood for Christmas.

An amazing day with your lovely family and friends, I had a lovely time with you all!

Congratulations x

Glenbervie House Wedding – Gemma & Tyler

Glenberive House Wedding!

I loved Gemma and Tyler’s pretty autumnal wedding at Glenbervie House. Super relaxed and there were dogs, can every bride and groom bring a dog to their wedding? Please!

Gemma and Tyler met in Vegas while on holiday. Who doesn’t love a holiday romance? It was so lovely hearing all about how they met and fell in love and bringing two families together for their wedding day at Glenbervie House.

A wonderful, relaxed, fun filled day full of love and laughter, I loved all the personal touches and the fusion of Scottish and American cultures!

Big congratulations x

Archerfield House Wedding – Ruth & Johnnie

It’s always a pleasure photographing a wedding at Archerfield House in North Berwick.  So I was super excited when Ruth and Johnnie booked me for their intimate wedding with close family and friends.

After a lovely ceremony and a relaxed drinks reception Ruth and Johnnie managed to dodge the heavy rain showers for some photographs and even finding time to capture a rainbow!

An amazing afternoon spent with you both, so relaxed and personal.  I’m so pleased you asked me along!

Balbirnie House Wedding – Laurie & Steven

A little preview of Laurie and Steven’s lovely relaxed Balbirnie House wedding!

Laurie had her bridal prep with her bridesmaids at the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry before embarking on her journey to Balbirnie House for their humanist ceremony with family and friends with her Dad in her classic dream car the Bauford Tourer, nothing like arriving in style!

A romantic humanist ceremony with friends and family and afterwards a relaxed ceremony in the pretty gardens.  Laurie and Steven were a joy to shoot, so chilled and very obviously in love.

It was an amazing day with lots of love and laughter.  It was lovely being a part of your special day! x

Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh Wedding – Rachel & Ryan

Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh Wedding – Rachel & Ryan!

We had the most amazing day with lovely Rachel and Ryan on their wedding day at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.  They braved the heaviest of downpours for photographs and made the most of the dry spells. Nothing could dampen this lovely day, even in the rain, the Botanic Gardens is such a pretty venue!

On the morning of the wedding I met beautiful bride Rachel at her family home in Dunfermline.  The light in the house was just perfect to photograph Rachel’s pretty details and gorgeous flowers by florist Lou Lou Flowers.  Meanwhile, Rachel and her sister were getting ready with talented make up artist Rebekah McVitie.

We met Ryan and the boys at St Margaret’s Church in Dunfermline for some relaxed portraits before greeting guests for their ceremony.  The first spots of rain threatened just as Rachel and her Dad arrived in their vintage Ford Cortina!  After a beautiful ceremony and Rachel and Ryan exited as Mr and Mrs to a downpour, so we decided to make the most of the warm, dry church and cover family groups at the church alter before heading back to Edinburgh.

Arriving at the Botanic Gardens the rain was on and off, so armed with umbrellas Rachel and Ryan embraced the weather and luckily the rain stayed away for us to capture some pretty photographs in and around the stunning gardens.  Friends and family enjoyed the reception in the Caledonian Suite followed by speeches and cutting of the cake before being piped over to the John Hope Gateway Building for a beautiful wedding breakfast but not before we captured the newlyweds by that amazing car!

Sometimes we worry about the weather but with a bit of flexibility and just going with the flow, you can still capture beautiful photographs regardless? Rachel and Ryan’s gorgeous wedding prove you can still have beautiful wedding pictures even it does rain on your wedding day.

Lots of fun and laughter with close family and friends, we loved being a part of your special day. Congratulations!

Archerfield Waterfront Pavilion Wedding – Jennifer & Andrew

Archerfield Waterfront Pavilion Wedding – Jennifer and Andrew!

Congratulations to Jennifer and Andrew!   I do love Archerfield, it’s one of my favourite venues, I always enjoy shooting weddings there, each one is always different and unique. The day started with a fun filled bridal prep in the Waterfront Marina Villa with Jennifer and her bridesmaids, it’s such a beautiful location for bridal prep and just perfect to capture all of Jennifer’s stylish details and flowers from Roseparks.  Meanwhile, the boys were photographed at the Boathouse before heading off to nearby Dirleton Parish Church to greet all their guests.

After a  beautiful and emotional ceremony with close friends and family, the guests mingled and chatted with Jennifer and Andrew before heading back to Archerfield.  The open sided marquee next to the Waterfront Lodge looked magnificent and a well thought out addition with the threat of rain!  A wonderful drinks reception in and around the marquee before heading off for some couple portraits.  Jennifer and Andrew weren’t phased at all by the weather in fact they embraced it!  We had lots of fun during their couple portraits before heading back to the Waterfront Pavilion to greet all their guests for dinner.  The marquee looked stunning and styled to perfection with so many pretty details and floral arrangements by Florist Roseparks.

We started the day with glorious sunshine and dodged the rain showers in the afternoon but everybody took the Scottish weather in good spirit and had a wonderful time!  The Scottish weather can sometimes be a challenge on your wedding day but with some flexibility and taking it all in your stride and embracing it all like Jennifer and Andrew you can still have wonderful wedding images and a rainy day makes for some lovely dramatic clouds for sunset photographs!

A perfect day – Big Congratulations!

Harburn House Wedding – Sally and Johnny

Harburn House Wedding – Sally and Johnny

A lovely sunny Summer wedding at Harburn House to celebrate Sally and Johnny’s beautiful wedding day!

It was great to back at Harburn House, it’s one of my favourite venues, it has everything for gorgeous rooms for bridal prep, magnificent staircase and the most stunning grounds for photographs.  You are a little spoiled for choice!

After a busy bridal prep with Sally and the girls capturing all the pretty details and gorgeous bouquets, the boys were waiting at Kirk of Calder for the guests.  A lovely church ceremony with close friends and family before heading back to Harburn House for drinks on the lawn in the sunshine. The guests were entertained by a lovely pianist while they sipped champagne before being piped into dinner by Sally and Johnny’s friends on the bagpipes!

The marquee looked magnificent and was styled to perfection by Sally’s Mum and Johnny’s Mum, talented ladies indeed!  A day full of fun and laughter and glorious sunshine! We had a fabulous day with you, huge congratulations to you both!
